Restek GC-HPLC Column

A packed column is a type of equipment commonly used in chemical and process engineering for separation processes like distillation, absorption, and chemical reactions. It consists of a vertical cylinder (column) filled with packing material, which provides a large surface area for interactions between the phases (e.g., liquid and gas or liquid and solid).

Restek columns are considered better due to their robustness, inertness, and unique selectivity, which lead to improved performance, longer lifetimes, and better results. Their Rxi and other technologies create very inert columns with low bleed, leading to higher sensitivity and cleaner signals, especially for challenging compounds. This results in less column maintenance, more reliable data, and faster analysis times.
