Video Medtech Devices Mass-Produced Efficiently
Using the example of blood vials made from transparent, unbreakable PET, ARBURG demonstrates the production-efficient and high-quality manufacture of mass-produced medtech devices. A hybrid Packaging-version ALLROUNDER 630 H with a clamping force of 2300 kN in clean room design is used for this purpose. A clean-air module with ionisation ensures low-particle air in the operating area, while the raised machine base enables optimum cleaning. Its cycle time is around 6.5 s and the shot weight is 227 g. This results in a high throughput of around 27 kg or 17,700 blood vials per hour. -
Video Turnkey system manufactures dolphins from recyclate
A turnkey system built around an electric ALLROUNDER 470 E GOLDEN ELECTRIC produced small plastic dolphins fully automatically at Fakuma 2023. The material used is a post-consumer recyclate (PCR) made from old fishing nets. As a result, plastic waste is turned into a new, long-lasting product with a significantly improved carbon footprint. -
Video IML application for medical technology
Using centrifuge tubes with labels as an example, ARBURG unveiled an innovative IML application with added value for the pharmaceutical industry and medical technology at Fakuma 2023. An electric ALLROUNDER 520 A "Ultimate", is designed for fast and demanding processes such as thin-wall applications. An 8-cavity mould from KEBO is used to produce 15-millilitre tubes made of PP. A label applicator head from Beck is used to apply the labels, while optical control is carried out via a camera system from Intravis. With the application, attention was also paid to a low carbon footprint, energy efficiency and a compact production cell.
