Product Description

Tyrosol, also known as p-hydroxyphenylethyl alcohol, is a phenol derivative and a natural antioxidant found in many plants, especially olives and olive oil. Tyrosol has pharmacological effects such as antioxidant, anti-glycation, anti-inflammatory, and cardiovascular protection. Tyrosol can be used as an intermediate in organic synthesis and medicine, and is an important synthetic raw material for the drugs metoprolol and petalol. Metoprolol can be used to treat hypertension and angina pectoris, as well as arrhythmias caused by other causes or hyperthyroidism. In addition, it can also be used for maintenance treatment after myocardial infarction; Betaxolol eye drops are used for open-angle glaucoma, angle-closure glaucoma and ocular hypertension that are not completely controlled after surgery. It can also be taken orally for the treatment of high blood pressure, and can prevent angina attacks during exercise.
