UK Pharma Industry to Benefit from First Cloud Service
BT's new cloud-based service could help to reduce research costs and accelerate the development of new drugs.
UK telecoms giant BT has announced the first cloud service designed to support collaboration within the life sciences industry.
BT for Life Sciences R&D will provide a secure and segregated platform for the pharmaceutical industry, helping to increase productivity and support the development of new therapies.
Scientists in pharmaceutical, biotech, devices and diagnostics companies will be able to securely upload documents and share results through the new service.
In addition, the cloud service will enable researchers to communicate via a range of channels - including instant messaging, voice, video and chat - to discuss their results.
