Diabetes Market Continues Growth as Sufferers Increase Sharply

With the growth of the global population of adults suffering from diabetes, costs related to the prevention and treatment of the disease are expected to grow to $490bn by 2030.

According to a new research by Research analysis firm Frost & Sullivan, the market for diabetes treatments is the fastest growing pharmaceutical sector, and costs related to the prevention and treatment of the disease are expected to grow to $490bn by 2030.

 

The research has reported that the global population of adults suffering from diabetes is expected to rapidly increase from the current 285 million people to 438 million, representing 7.8% of the global adult population, by 2030.

 

Countries with the largest diabetes populations include India, with 50.8 million sufferers and China, with 43.2 million sufferers.
