Product Description

Defibrase® is Pentapharm's trademark for Batroxobin, a serine protease and thrombin-like enzyme from Bothrops moojeni snake venom. Unlike thrombin, batroxobin only splits fibrinopeptide A from fibrinogen, causing a defibrinogenating effect.

Batroxobin is clinically used to treat thrombotic diseases, including:

- Acute cerebral infarction

- Ischemia from vascular occlusive diseases (e.g., Thromboangiitis obliterans, deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism)

- Peripheral and microcirculation dysfunctions (e.g., sudden deafness, vibration disease)
