The BioThrust Membrane Stirrer enables the world's first completely bubble-free aeration of bioreactors with sufficient gas entry. This unique technology reduces shear forces to minimum levels and completely avoids foam. Due to these technical advantages, the technology improves the achievable cell density by more than 200%. It is particularly useful for the cultivation of shear-sensitive organisms such as stem cells, CAR-T cells, insect cells or viral vector production.
The module is available in reactor sizes 250mL-200L (with further scale-up ongoing to 2000L). For testing the new technology, it can easfily be retrofitted to any bioreactor system.
