Applications & advantages: Hard boiled lozenges are mainly used for pharmaceuticals and medical devices for the oral cavity containing pain relievers and anti-inflammatory agents (e.g. for cough, hoarseness, throat inflammations, oral infections or tooth aches). Hard boiled lozenges have the distinct advantage that the active ingredients are released as the lozenge is dissolved. Therefore this dosage form is very well-suited for actives that need to be released slowly into the oral cavity.
