It is a nonionic water-soluble cellulose ether which is derived from pulp of cotton fible or pulp of wooden fible,the pulp first treated with caustic soda, and this is etherified with methyl chloride or with the combinatin of methyl choride and propylene oxide at high temperature. Cellulose is not soluble in water due to its crystalline structure with strong intermolecular hydrogen bonding between oh groups. When the hydrogen atoms of some of the oh groups are substituted with methyl or hydroxypropyl groups.the resulting methoxyl and hydroxypropyl groups interfere with the inter-molecular hydrogen bonding,so that the polymer chains are less strongly bound to each other. This allows water into the inter-molecular spaces of cellulose, and the product becomes water-soluble. Packing: in 20kgs or 25kgs cardboard drum or woven bag with pe lining.
