Colour is a critical quality attribute (CQA) in pharmaceutical development and manufacturing, providing essential information on product identity, batch-to-batch consistency, and stability across dosage forms. International pharmacopeias – including the United States Pharmacopeia (USP) and the European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) – define standardised methodologies and acceptance criteria for colour assessment.
