Biopharmaceutical Companies Face Document Management Challenges

A survey has highlighted the challenges faced by life sciences companies with regard to document management.

Global biopharmaceutical companies and other life sciences firms still face major hurdles when managing information, a survey suggests.

Octagon Research Solutions surveyed almost 500 executives, directors and other professionals within departments such as corporate management, IT, clinical and regulatory operations and found that document management still throws up significant challenges.

Respondents - who represented hundreds of leading and emerging pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies - cited a number of challenges throughout the clinical and regulatory process, such as author review and approval processes, document access and IT infrastructure support.
