Colorcon offers customers to expertise in film coating formulation processes
Colorcon will provide customers with access to expertise on film coating formulation processes for Quality by Design (QbD) requirements.
Colorcon has announced a new customer access initiative for its film coating formulation and process applications to help pharma manufacturers with Quality by Design (QbD) initiatives.
The company specialises in the development and supply of formulated coatings and other excipients for use in the pharmaceutical and nutritional supplement industries.
From January 2013, drug manufacturers in the US will be expected by the Food and Drug Administration to implement QbD principles as part of the application process for new drugs.
This is to ensure that product development and manufacturing are carried out in such as a way as to boost the safety and efficacy of new drugs.
Kamlesh Oza, general manager of film coatings at Colorcon, said: "For more than fifty years, Colorcon has remained a credible, industry-leading, partner in the development of fully formulated coating systems and has worked alongside formulators and drug product manufacturers while offering superior technical support."
He added that QbD principles ensure that film coating products are developed and manufactured to "robust" standards in line with FDA expectations.
