New Test Probes Appropriate Treatment for Prostate Cancer
Results of a study including 703 men with prostate cancer give hope to cure patients.
Scientists at Queen Mary, University of London have found that an experimental test could help thousands of men with prostate cancer avoid surgery and give proper treatment for patients with prostate cancer.
A study, funded by Cancer Research UK suggested that men with high levels of cell-cycle progression genes are three times more likely to have a fatal form of prostate cancer.
It is hoped that a genetic screening test could pinpoint how aggressive the cancer is and predict if it will return once treated.
