    · Urine acidifying agents: Upon oral ingestion, they dissociate H⁺, lowering the urine pH. This is used to aid in the treatment of uric acid stones and cystine stones, and can also enhance the antibacterial effects of certain antibiotics (such as tetracyclines and quinolones).

    · PH buffer/adjuster: Saturated solution pH ≈ 3.5–3.7, stabilizes weakly acidic drugs (e.g., peptides, antibiotics), preventing degradation.
