Bromocresol Green is an acid-base indicator dye, which is a member of the triphenylmethane group of dyes. It is provided in the form of a water-soluble sodium salt solution and is greenish-yellow at a ready concentration of 0.04%. Bromocresol Green has a molecular formula of C21H14Br4O5S. The color of this indicator changes from blue in basic conditions to yellow in acidic conditions in a pH range of about 3.8 to 5.4. The solution Bromocresol Green 0.04 percent is widely used to follow any changes in pH of aqueous solutions and is applicable in analytical chemistry, biochemistry and laboratory education.
