Zinc powder (dust) has a strong reducibility and hydrogen is released with acid and alkali.
It mostly used as anti-corrosive paint in industrial coating. These metallic zinc pigments act as active preservatives and form a coating on the metal surface to protect the structure of the building. It also acts as a reducing agent and catalyst in various chemical reactions.
