Human Fibrinogen

Fibrinogen (Factor I) is a large, complex glycoprotein that can be converted to fibrin, one of the key components to promote wound healing.
Fibrinogen has various applications in pharmaceutical and biotechnological manufacturing. It can be used as a coating on medical devices, and in wound healing. Combined with thrombin, Fibrinogen can be applied to a collagen patch for use as a topical hemostatic agent. These two agents are used to induce rapid hemostasis and tissue sealing following a variety of indications including thoracic, plastic, pediatric, hepatic and minimally invasive surgery.

When activated to fibrin, human fibrinogen forms a stable clot that serves as tissue scaffold for tissue sealing in various surgical procedures and for acute and chronic regeneration.
