Applications: • Used as a catalyst in acetic acid production (Monsanto process). • Common intermediate in the manufacturing of some pharmaceuticals and pesticides. • Organic chemical application: widely used for alkylating carbon, oxygen, sulfur, nitrogen, and phosphorus nucleophiles.
