Opipramol

Opipramol
Product Description

Atypical anxiolytic/antidepressant acting primarily via σ1/σ2-receptor agonism rather than monoamine reuptake inhibition, a mechanism that differentiates it from SSRIs and benzodiazepines. Effective for generalized anxiety disorder and somatoform disorders, with low dependence potential. Its additional antihistaminergic activity contributes a mild sedative effect that can support sleep without the tolerance and withdrawal risks associated with benzodiazepines. The tablet is generally dosed once daily, typically in the evening, and is well tolerated over extended courses of therapy.
