Leading Industry and Academic Experts to Discuss Drug Delivery Technologies to Overcome Bioavailability Issues
The Catalent Applied Drug Delivery Institute will hold its second European educational and training event, “Overcoming Bioavailability Challenges” at the Novartis global headquarters campus in Basel, Switzerland, on Thursday 27 March 27. World-leading experts on drug development and delivery from across industry and academia will share the most effective and innovative approaches and technologies for improving drug bioavailability, including speakers from 3M, Hovione, BASF, Formac Pharmaceuticals, Agere Pharmaceuticals, Saarland University and Catalent Pharma Solutions.
The sessions will focus on innovative strategies for overcoming challenges in the delivery of poorly soluble and permeable drugs, as well as the benefits of usng new drug delivery technology platforms to deliver better treatments for patients. In addition to the presentations there will be a panel discussion looking at current trends in the use of advanced delivery technologies. “Attendees will gain expert insights and innovative bioavailability strategies to help overcome the complex drug delivery challenges they face, as well as an understanding of the value of closer collaboration between industry and academia,” commented Terry Robinson, Executive Director, Catalent Institute. “This second European event follows the inaugural October event at the Royal Society of Chemistry in London, which had strong participation from European pharmaceutical developers and academia.”
Established in 2012, the Institute adopts a multi-tiered approach to accelerate the adoption of advanced drug delivery technologies through industry and academic collaboration, research, education, and the sharing of information.
