CPHI Podcast Series: Packaging expert perspectives at Pharmapack 2025

This month's podcast episode sounds a little different, covering the latest event in Paris – Pharmapack 2025. Digital Editor Lucy Chard speaks to several experts direct from the floor of the show, bringing you right in on the action. 

This episode gives an insight into what it's like attending the Pharmapack trade show. With nearing on 6,000 attendees you can imagine the buzz on the show floor and the energy of all those passionate about pharmaceutical packaging in one hall. 

The shows not only bring attendees and businesses together to enable connections, the building of partnerships, and the catching up with international colleagues and friends, but there is also a wealth of education content brought to the show in the conference theatres. 

The event content is a brilliant way to hear about the very latest developments in the hottest areas of pharmaceutical packaging, and provides an opportunity to see speak and meet with renowned experts in the industry, from some of the leading companies in their respective fields. 

In this podcast episode we hear from one such speaker, Tom Etheridge, Senior Industrial Design Consultant at Team Consulting, who speaks about some of the latest trends and developments in devices and packaging, covering digital tech, as well a brief insight into his presentation from the show. 

Sustainability is an ever increasing feature of Pharmapack, and a vital aspect of the pharmaceutical packaging industry. We managed to catch up with Lizzie Smith, Sustainable Packaging Consultant, and previous contributing expert on our own 2025 Sustainability Report from CPHI Online, to hear about what more the pharmaceutical industry needs to do, to keep eith other industries' progress. 

This year's Pharmapack Awards featured a new award – for the Woman of the Year. Pharmapack were very proud to be able to launch the award at this year's awards evening, and even more proud to see all of the nominations for the prize, highlighting such a high calibre of respected women in the industry. The winner of the award was Asmita Khanolkar, Senior Director of SMC Pharma Services. Khanolkar also delivered a keynote address as a part of the conference sessions: 'Towards new devices or new formulations'. We were very lucky to catch Khanolkar for a few minutes at the show to discuss her work and her thoughts on women in STEM. 

And finally in the podcast we speak to one of the women that made it all happen, Sherma Ellis Daal, Brand Director for Informa Markets, and show director for Pharmapack 2025. Ellis Daal tells us what she loves about Pharmapack and what we can expect to see in the future. 

This episode was a delight to record, and will hopefully bring some of the energy from the show straight to our audience.
