Product Tropical and Paediatric Reformulation, Barbados
A formulation that performs in a temperate market does not automatically perform in a tropical one. Products registered into Zone IVb markets face 30°C and 75% relative humidity as a baseline storage condition, and reformulation is often the difference between a viable shelf life and a failed submissio... -
Product Pharmaceutical Development Base, Barbados
Place your generic development work in Barbados: stability testing, bioequivalence and reformulation. IP income is taxed at 4.5 per cent, and development spend carries a 50 per cent R&D credit and a 25 per cent productivity and innovation credit.
Barbados sits in ICH Zone IVb. That matters... -

Product Digital Systems Partnership for a New GMP Facility, Barbados
Most pharmaceutical digital projects are retrofits onto plants that were running before the systems arrived. Barbados is specifying its stack before the facility exists. BPI's national sector strategy sets a digital systems stack of LIMS, ERP and eDMS, compliant with FDA 21 CFR Part 11 and EU Annex... -
Product Pharmacovigilance and Post-Market Surveillance, Caribbean

Product Regional Distribution and Supply into CARICOM

Product Route to Market: CARICOM and Regional Public Procurement
CARICOM is fifteen markets and most manufacturers skip it, because no single one justifies a registration on its own.
CARPHA's Caribbean Regulatory System reviews a dossier once for the region, which cuts the work per market without removing the national step. Two buyers carry the volume: the ... -
Product Stability Testing, ICH Zone IVb (30°C / 75% RH), Barbados
Products registered across the Caribbean, Brazil, India and the ASEAN markets require stability data generated at ICH Zone IVb conditions, 30°C ±2°C and 75% relative humidity ±5%. Data from a European laboratory at 25°C and 60% RH will not satisfy those regulators.

Brochure Barbados Pharmaceutical Inc. (company profile)
Barbados Pharmaceutical Inc. is the commercial arm of the Government of Barbados, set up to build pharmaceutical manufacturing for a Caribbean and Latin American market of around 660 million people that imports almost everything it dispenses. CARICOM alone buys USD 2.8 billion of medicines a year, most of it through public tenders. BPI structures the investment and partnerships behind that shift, so a company deals with one counterparty for policy, incentives, regulatory pathway and commercial terms. A medicines regulatory authority is established in law, the incentives include a refundable 50 percent R&D credit and duty free inputs, and five projects are in active development. Our Investment Promotion Office in Charleroi, Belgium is the route in for European and global companies.

Brochure Barbados National Pharmaceutical Sector Strategy
Barbados has a national roadmap to build pharmaceutical manufacturing by 2031. Register to receive it on publication.
Barbados is building an export oriented pharmaceutical industry to strengthen medicine security at home and across the Caribbean. The National Pharmaceutical Sector Strategy is the roadmap for it, covering regulation, manufacturing, talent, innovation and investment, with regional partnerships and procurement pathways into CARICOM and wider markets. By 2031 the target is a commercially sustainable sector producing essential medicines, creating skilled jobs and reducing the region's dependence on imports. For any company assessing the Caribbean, the strategy sets out where the country intends to start, which products come first and what government is putting behind it. Register to receive the strategy on publication.

Brochure AMA Medical Manufacturing and BPI Joint Venture
A US$32 million IV fluids facility for Barbados, CARICOM and export markets. The country's first commercial manufacturing partnership.
The joint venture between AMA Medical Manufacturing and Barbados Pharmaceutical Inc. combines BPI's national mandate and market access with AMA's technical and industrial expertise. The first investment is a US$32 million IV fluids facility designed for up to 12 million bags a year, serving Barbados, CARICOM and export markets, and reducing a dependence on imported IV fluids that the region currently has no way around. The partnership is built to scale into further pharmaceutical products and opens a pharmaceutical trade and investment corridor between Africa and the Caribbean. Talk to us about what could move next.

Brochure Regional Quality Control Laboratory
Barbados is seeking operators, investors and technical partners for a regional pharmaceutical QC laboratory.
Manufacturers in the Caribbean send product overseas for essential testing, and one Barbados manufacturer alone spends over US$1 million a year doing it. Barbados intends to close that gap with a regional pharmaceutical quality control laboratory covering microbial, stability, chemical and analytical testing, so release testing happens close to the market rather than across an ocean. The laboratory would serve manufacturers across the region, strengthen regulatory assurance and shorten time to release. Barbados Pharmaceutical Inc. is looking for laboratory operators, investors and technical partners to build and run it. If you build, equip or operate laboratories, we should talk.

Brochure Regional Health Supplies Hub
A consolidation and distribution gateway in Barbados for health products moving into the Caribbean.
Essential health products reach Caribbean countries in small, frequent and expensive shipments, because every market orders on its own. Barbados is advancing a Regional Health Supplies Hub to consolidate and distribute products sourced through the PAHO Revolving Fund and Strategic Fund, which together cover 42 countries and territories and a portfolio running from vaccines and essential medicines to diagnostics and medical devices. PAHO already runs its regional public health hub for the Eastern Caribbean from Barbados. Aggregating through one gateway answers fragmented demand and high logistics costs and improves the speed and resilience of regional supply. If you move products at scale, come talk to us.
-
Brochure Pharmaceutical Digital Workforce Academy
Digital GMP, quality and regulatory training built for Barbados and the Caribbean.
A manufacturing sector needs people who can run it. Barbados is developing a Pharmaceutical Digital Workforce Academy with international training partners, offering industry aligned digital training and credentials in GMP manufacturing, quality systems, regulatory sciences and supply chain. The platform is designed to serve Barbados and the wider Caribbean, covering foundational competencies, micro credentials and continuing professional development, so a company setting up here finds a pipeline rather than a shortage. Barbados Pharmaceutical Inc. is looking for training providers, accreditation bodies and industry partners to shape the curriculum. Talk to us about training and workforce partnerships.

Brochure Trade Mission, Barbados 2027
One visit, everyone who decides. Register your interest in the 2027 inbound mission.
Barbados is hosting an inbound trade mission in 2027 for companies considering manufacturing, supply or partnership in the Caribbean. One visit puts you in front of the people who decide: the Ministry of Health, the Barbados Medical Products Authority and time on site at Newton Life Science Park and the AMA joint venture. In a country this size that is one week rather than a year of scheduling. Places are limited. Register your interest and you get the dates and the programme before they are announced.
