CARICOM is fifteen markets and most manufacturers skip it, because no single one justifies a registration on its own.

CARPHA's Caribbean Regulatory System reviews a dossier once for the region, which cuts the work per market without removing the national step. Two buyers carry the volume: the PAHO Strategic Fund, at around USD 600 million a year in essential medicines, and the Barbados Drug Service, where hypertension alone accounts for 44 per cent of prescriptions. BPI's sector strategy seeks a multi-year supply agreement with the Drug Service as anchor demand.
