Technology Transfer and Contract Manufacturing Partnership, Barbados

Technology Transfer and Contract Manufacturing Partnership, Barbados
Product Description

BPI is building pharmaceutical formulation capacity in Barbados and is looking for technology transfer partners: established manufacturers with proven products and processes seeking a production base for CARICOM and the Global South.

BPI's transfer framework covers 5 components: formulation know-how, manufacturing process, quality control analytical methods, regulatory dossier, and training to competence.
BPI's development pathway follows the seven-stage codified generic process, with formulation development of bioequivalent products costed at USD 0.5 to 2 million per project.

Barbados applies a 50% R&D tax credit, a 25% productivity and innovation credit, and a 4.5% patent box rate to formulation development and process IP. Import duty exemptions cover raw materials, packaging and GMP equipment.

Partners work with a single counterparty for site, incentives, regulatory pathway and workforce.
