EMA Launches New Review on Non-selective NSAIDs

The EMA has launched a new review on whether non-selective NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) can damage cardiovascular health.

The European Medicines Agency has launched a new review on whether non-selective NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) can damage cardiovascular health.

The probe covers authorised medicines such as diclofenac, etodolac, ibuprofen, indomethacin, ketoprofen, meloxicam, nabumetone, naproxen, nimesulide and piroxicam.

The agency will assess relevant studies released since 2006, notably a recent EU-funded research project SOS ("safety of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs").
