iRestore solutions are synthetic media for corneal storage. The special formulations consist of a mixture of salts, aminoacids, vitamins, nutrients and preservatives agents which are suitable for the physiological preservation of the cornea.

The iRestore solutions are divided into three categories according to their purpose: Culture, Transport and Conservation.

It is well known that highly viable corneal endothelium is fundamental for a successful transplantation. iRestore solutions are enriched with an osmotic agent identified by Haemopharm R&D department, which avoids tissue edema formation and provide more stable formulations. All the solutions also contain phenol red indicator which allows a rapid visualization of pH variations.

Haemopharm production process takes advantage of a cutting-edge technique which ensures high qualitative standards: all solutions are terminally sterilized by filtration (0.22 μm) into a positive isolator. This real closed system guarantees an aseptic environment which few companies in the ophthalmic industry are able to provide.

The iRestore solutions are divided into three categories according to their purpose: Culture, Transport and Conservation.

iRestore Culture is a device intended for the preservation of corneal grafts at 31°C, up to 30 days. Serum based-medium provides higher maintenance standard for the quality of the tissue. Extended incubation time allows accurate endothelial assessment, permitting the selection of cornea with stable and viable endothelium. The presence of antibiotics and antimycotics protects against microbiological contaminations.

iRestore Transport is a device intended for the deturgescence and transport at room temperature of the corneal tissue, after incubation in the organ culture medium iRestore Culture, sterile. The presence of deturgescence agent restores the physiological thickness of the cornea, which is increased after cornea culture, and revers the opacification of the tissue which normally occurs during long-term storage in organ culture media. The solution contains antibiotic and antimycotic.

iRestore Conservation is a device intended for the preservation of corneal grafts in hypothermic conditions, up to 14 days. Corneal graft is placed into a solution enriched of nutrients and preservative agents which allow the maintenance of the viability of the endothelium and prevent microbical contamination during the entire storage time. The presence of deturgescent agents mantains the transparency and the physiological thickness of the cornea up to the transplantation.
